Blue Economy Capsules

What exactly do we mean by the “blue economy”?
We’re launching something new to answer just that 🌊

Welcome to the “Blue Economy Capsules”, a series of short videos that break down key concepts linked to ocean-based activities. These are terms we often hear, but do not always fully understand.

In our first episode, we start with the basics.
The blue economy refers to all activities connected to oceans, seas, and coasts, from fisheries and maritime transport to offshore renewable energy and coastal tourism. A sustainable blue economy goes one step further: it means using ocean resources responsibly, supporting jobs, innovation, and growth while protecting marine ecosystems.

In this first video, the Coordinator of the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership, Margherita Cappelletto, helps us dive in.
