7th Wave Energy Workshop - MOREnergy Lab \ COER

The Marine Offshore Renewable Energy Lab (MOREnergy Lab) in collaboration with the Centre for Ocean Energy Research (COER) Maynooth, will host the 7th Wave Energy Workshop with invited experts from the ocean
energy academic, industrial and policy community.

The workshop, usually held in Maynooth, Co. Kildare, Ireland is moving to Turin, Italy this year! The scope of the workshop will cover a range of topics across wave energy conversion, with a broad focus on hydrodynamic modelling,
control and wave energy technology enhancement, with an industry and policy session, a poster exhibition and a round table discussion from international and local experts. We expect an attendance of 100 members of the wave energy community with approximately 25 poster submissions.

One of the main focuses of the workshop is to bring together and solidify the community of researchers and industrialists working in this area, while providing some impressions of best practice and state-of-the-art research
and to further links with the academic/industrial community. Recent previous contributors have included: Wave Energy Scotland, University of Manchester, Quilmes University (Argentina), Technical University of Denmark, Resolute Marine, CorPower, Wave Venture, Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, University College Dublin, Queens University Belfast, Ecole Centrale de Nantes, Imperial College London, University College Cork, Aquamarine Power,
Aalborg University, Sandia National Labs, University of Edinburgh…

The MOREnergy Lab research centre was born in 2020, after more than 15 years of experience of Politecnico di Torino in the offshore renewable energy field, with the purpose of studying the development of industrial systems able to produce energy from marine and offshore wind sources. The research group addresses the challenges related to
the design, model, and control of Wave Energy Converters (WECs) and Floating Offshore Wind Turbines. Among the WECs developed by the MOREnergy Lab there are PeWEC and ISWEC, tested up to full scale in open sea. Further information is available at www.morenergylab.polito.it.

The Centre for Ocean Energy Research (COER) at Maynooth University is an active international research centre involved in fundamental and applied research relating to ocean energy and consisting of a team of 20 researchers. It is funded by a range of external sources including industry, national agencies (Such as Science Foundation Ireland,
Enterprise Ireland etc.) and international agencies including the European Union H2020 research programmes and has a wide range of national and international collaborators. Further information is available at https://coer.maynoothuniversity.ie/.

To register, please visit: http://www.morenergylab.polito.it/events/. A nominal registration fee of €40 (VAT excluded) will be charged to cover hospitality (lunch and 2 coffee-breaks included).

We would like to solicit abstracts for posters. We have space for 25 posters, operating on a first-come, first-served (subject to approval) basis. Posters should focus on some technical aspects of wave energy, rather than serving as a pure advertising medium! Please send us an abstract of your poster (max 500 words). There will be a poster
competition, with prizes offered by INORE.
